Smithsburg High School Athletic Complex Masterplan

Project Brief

FSA assembled a multidisciplinary team to address the Smithsburg High School Athletic Field Facility Improvements which included landscape architects, surveyors, architects and engineers. A comprehensive report was developed to provide WCPS with a plan for the future of its athletic facilities which included: 1) Site analysis and summary, 2) Master Plan options, 3) Analysis of specific components required by WCPS, 4) Ranking of proposed improvements, cost estimates and a report summary.

Master Plan options included 3 separate concepts as follows:

Level I (Enhancing Existing Condition) – Renovate the existing facilities and minor relocating of facilities
Level II (Organizing a Complex) – Reorganization of a sports complex that takes advantage of the entire property
Level III (Connected School + Sports Complex)– Creation of a more connected School and sports complex with a relocated football stadium
